Emily Porter, a student at Lady Manners School, has received a national accolade for achieving the highest mark in the country in GCSE Geography.
The Royal Geographical Society have announced their annual Excellence Awards, which are presented to students who have achieved the highest marks nationally in geography examinations. Emily achieved the highest mark in the GCSE Geography exam. She received an Amazon gift card and certificate from the Royal Geographical Society for her achievement.
Mrs Scott, Head of Geography at Lady Manners School, said: “Emily is a very talented geographer and we are extremely proud of her. The Geography Department at Lady Manners School saw a very good number of strong performances, but Emily’s remarkable achievement is the icing on the cake.”
Mr Meikle, Headteacher added: “We are all delighted that Emily has chosen to continue to study Geography as one of her A Level courses here at Lady Manners School in the Sixth Form. She is a credit to the school and her achievement is testament to her hard work, supported by the strength of the Geography Department. Many congratulations to Emily on this wonderful result.”
