I have spent all my life in and around Bakewell and I have a long association with Lady Manners School. My mother attended the school in the 1930s and my brother, sister and I were students at the school during the 60s and 70s.
After leaving school in 1974, I qualified as a television engineer, which involved installing and fixing people’s TVs and video recorders.
In 1992 I started working at Lady Manners, initially as a technician, then later as the IT Network Manager. I have been retired a while now but do voluntary work as a presenter on a local radio station and also with the local police service as part of The Rural Crime Team.
I feel very proud to be part of the Governing Body and intend to do my best in supporting the staff and students.
