We are currently seeking the following, to join our team:

Deputy Headteacher (Curriculum and Achievement)
Site Supervisor
  • Closing date: 3 February 2020
  • Grade 5 £18,426 to £18,794 per annum plus enhancement of time and a third for unsocial hours worked after 7pm or before 7am
  • 37 hours per week, including some weekend work to service lettings of the school premises, 52 weeks per year
  • Rotating shift pattern:
    • Week 1: 6am to 2pm Monday to Thursday and 6am to 1.30pm Friday
    • Week 2: 8am to 4pm Monday to Thursday and 8am to 3.30pm Friday
    • Week 3: 1pm to 9pm Monday to Thursday and 1.30pm to 9.00pm Friday
    • Hours for weekend work are variable to meet letting requirements

Our team of enthusiastic and committed caretaking staff provide an invaluable and professional service to ensure that our school buildings and grounds are maintained to high standards.

The role involves a variety of duties including unlocking and securing the site, performing maintenance tasks, and grounds maintenance. You will be well supported and training is available.

Parents' Association Chair (Voluntary Role)
  • Note: this is a voluntary role with the Lady Manners School Parents' Association

Lady Manners School Parents’ Association is looking for a Chair to join the existing committee members. This is an opportunity for the parent of a student at the school to become involved in fundraising for the development of resources and facilities available to all at Lady Manners School.

The role involves:

  • Organising five Parents' Association meetings and arranging the dates for six car boot sales during the school year.
  • Writing and circulating agendas for the meetings
  • Answering occasional emails sent to the Parents' Association email account. Updating the list of volunteers when necessary.
  • Emailing volunteers (who help to sell raffle tickets, serve refreshments, bake cakes or donate raffle prizes) to create rotas for fundraising events such as concerts, car boot sales etc.
  • Liaising with the volunteers and school around fundraising events:
    • For the concerts: buy (or find a designated volunteer to buy) refreshments, check stocks in the Parents' Association cupboard at school and order more items (glasses, napkins, soft drinks and crisps) when necessary, making sure enough volunteers will be present at the event and emailing people to get raffle prizes donated beforehand/ going around Bakewell shops and asking for donations.
    • For the car boot sales: support the person responsible for Car Boot Sale organisation (if in post) to make sure enough volunteers will be present from gate opening at 7am to closing around lunch time. Coordinate with the school and make sure there will be access to the kitchen and cupboard, that there will be two hot water tanks available as well as tables etc and that someone is available to clean up the kitchen afterwards. Make sure sufficient cake donations have been confirmed before each car boot. Order (or ensure a designated volunteer orders) bacon, cobs, milk and butter and any other refreshments necessary.
    • Create (or liaise with school who will create) posters, banners and any other forms of visual communication.

Relief Support Services Assistant

Duties include clearing, preparing and serving food and supervising students. Experience of working in a similar role would be advantageous although full training will be provided. The rate of pay will be £9.18 per hour plus £1.33 per hour in lieu of annual leave/bank holidays.

Invigilator

Duties include assisting with the preparation of the examination room, supervising students during the examination and ensuring examinations run in accordance with rules and regulations. The rate of pay will be £9.36 per hour plus £1.36 per hour in lieu of annual leave/bank holidays.
